Adaptive Surfing South Africa has been busy behind the scenes and we are thrilled to announce a world class partnership with iExperience, Surf Emporium and Adaptive Surfing South Africa.
Our mission has always been clear and focused:
To give disabled people freedom through surfing.
This project will directly benefit any adaptive/disabled person who wants to learn how to surf.
It will be on going.
It is sustainable and it is free.
Thanks to our supporters - iXperience, Surf Emporium, UBER and Reef South Africa - we are now able to offer weekly adaptive surf days at Muizenberg, where any disabled/adaptive people within Cape Town are able to come and learn to surf. There will be safety offices and 5 professional coaches who are ISA accredited, at each event. Each day will host a maximum of 10 people and it can be individual or group participation. We will provide all equipment and food on the day. All we need is enthusiasm and a willingness to enjoy the ocean.
June/July dates are as follows:
2nd, 3rd, 10th, 17th - June
1st, 2nd, 8th, 15th - July
Days will run from 11am to 2pm.
Volunteers are an integral part of Adaptive Surfing and we are happy to share that iXperience will be providing the volunteers who come from all over the world to experience South Africa - Adaptive Surfing days will be part of this experience. Surf Emporium need very little introduction in the surfing world - as the premier surf school/shop/equipment/all things surfing, whose core mission is much the same as Adaptive Surfing. We are grateful to our partners.
Thanks go to Surfing South Africa for their continual support.
To Uber who will, where possible, be donating transport to and from the beach, and to Reef South Africa, who are collaborating with us on equipment.
